On 20 March 2025, the AJFVC held a virtual Inception Meeting to launch Output 3 of AJFVC, which focuses on enhancing food safety within the fishery sector. This initiative aims to promote Good Aquaculture Practices (GAqP) and establish the ASEAN guidelines along with the relevant principles for fisheries management.
During the Meeting, the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC), the executing partner for Output 3, presented the planned activities and schedule for this initiative to the ASEAN Sectoral Working Group on Fisheries (ASWGFi) and the Expert Working Group on ASEAN Good Aquaculture Practices (EWG-GAqP).
The technical departments of SEAFDEC, the Marine Fisheries Research Department (MFRD) and the Aquaculture Department (AQD) also explained each activity of Output 3 in detail and an active discussion was held from the technical point of view.
