On July 8, 2025, the AJFVC GAP Project Team hosted a webinar titled “Food Business Operator (FBO) Involvement in Promoting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) ~Practices in Japan~”. The webinar aimed to provide valuable insights into how FBOs engage in promoting GAP by sharing perspectives from a diverse group of stakeholders, including the owner of a certification program, a buyer of GAP-certified products, and a producer of GAP-certified commodities.

Presenters included representatives from the Japan GAP Foundation, Seven & i Holdings, and a JGAP-certified farm owner. Through their presentations, participants gained a deeper understanding of Japan’s successful strategies and practices in promoting GAP. The webinar also served as a platform for sharing experiences and fostering discussions among ASEAN Member States. Participants had the opportunity to exchange challenges and achievements related to the promotion of GAP through FBO involvement, enhancing mutual understanding and collaboration within the region.

In the final session, participants shared ideas for activities they would like to further explore to foster FBO involvement – such as inviting FBOs to participate in GAP training session- that could help raise awareness of GAP among FBOs.
