From November 18 to November 26, 12 representatives from six ASEAN member states participated in a ten-day study tour in Japan focused on Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) measures and Pesticide Residue Analysis, as part of the AJFVC project Output 2. During the tour, participants engaged with policy matters related to Japan’s regulatory methods for ensuring and implementing SPS measures. They visited a government laboratory and agricultural cooperatives to observe their operations and met with farmers and farming groups to gain insights into Japan’s agricultural sector. Throughout the study tour, participants shared their findings and discussed potential improvements in laboratory techniques based on the insights they gained.
