In August 2025, the AJFVC Team successfully organized a three-part webinar series aimed at enhancing the promotion of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) through various social media platforms. The sessions, held on August 12, 19, and 21, were specifically designed to assist ASEAN Member States (AMSs) in advancing their national GAP initiatives by exploring effective strategies for social media engagement.

The webinar began with an introductory session on the fundamentals of social media, followed by targeted discussions on three key promotional strategies:

  1. Increasing the number of GAP-certified producers through outreach and awareness campaigns.
  2. Encouraging other Food Business Operators (FBOs) to expand the distribution of GAP-certified products.
  3. Enhancing consumer awareness and interest in GAP-certified products by boosting public understanding and trust in GAP standards.

The webinars featured renowned marketing experts who conducted the sessions, sharing valuable insights on optimizing social media engagement on platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram. Emphasizing the power of User Generated Content (UGC) and strategic hashtag usage, the presentations equipped participants with techniques to amplify visibility and interaction. The experts also provided technical guidance on optimizing post-performance, focusing on boosting views, engagement, and follower counts through current trends and data analytics.

The webinar received positive feedback from participating AMSs. Countries that already have official social media accounts expressed an interest in sharing the training materials with their social media managers and implementing the strategies discussed. Meanwhile, countries planning to launch their own GAP-related social media channels indicated that the content from the webinar would serve as a valuable reference during their development phase.

This initiative is expected to catalyze not only the promotion of national GAP programs but also the broader dissemination of ASEAN GAP through coordinated social media campaigns across the region.
